Our Mission
KidsAbility Foundation is dedicated to raising both financial support and affirmative public awareness in assisting KidsAbility - Centre for Child Development fulfill its mission of helping children with physical, developmental and communication disabilities to reach their potential within the Region of Waterloo and Wellington County.
Our History
Prior to 2000, the only responsibility of the Foundation was the management of the endowment funds arising from bequests made over many years to the Centre. 2000-2001 was the first year for the Foundation to assume the primary fundraising responsibility for what was then known as the Rotary Children’s Centre.
A Foundation Now and For the Future
KidsAbility Foundation’s main objective is to raise sufficient funds to permit KidsAbility to carry on its planned activities, which inevitably includes an increase in the number of children served. Approximately 8% of the Centre’s operating budget is derived from community donations. Rotary Clubs in Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and Fergus-Elora provide approximately 25% of these donations.
Our “Kids Can’t Wait” Campaign raises over $800,000 annually and receives widespread support from Individuals, Corporations, Foundations, Service Clubs and other groups. These funds ensure that KidsAbility can help as many children as possible reach their potential.
KidsAbility Foundation Board members believe that providing for the future is most important. We are in the process of building a $10 million endowment campaign in order to ensure that the programs and services offered to our children will be available far into the future.
